Practice Description
Kathya Firlik has over 16 years of experience practicing municipal law. During this time, she regularly advised city councils, city managers, city staff, police departments, boards and commissions on all aspects of municipal law. She also routinely advised clients on employment laws, including Fair Employment and Housing Act, Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, California sick leave laws, HIPAA, Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, and Meyers Milias Brown Act (MMBA).
Ms. Firlik advises public agencies in such areas as the Public Records Act, the Ralph Brown Act, Political Reform Act, code enforcement, and all applicable employment laws. She regularly advises clients on various personnel matters and assists with workplace investigations (including allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other allegations of misconduct).
