Essential Job Duties:
- Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the Accounting Department
- Reconciling bank statements with the general ledger and cash reports
- Producing daily cash reports for management
- Reconciling daily cash receipts
- Preparing and entering general journal entries
- Updating and maintaining accounting records
- Coding and entering accounts payable
- Preparing payments for signature
- Monitor client accounts for delayed payments and act accordingly
Other Duties:
Other accounting duties as assigned by Finance Director
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures
- Competency in MS Office and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting reports
- High level of attention to detail a must
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task a variety of assignments in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing with internal staff, firm vendors and firm clients
- Deep understanding of confidentiality
- Some billing/accounting experience in a legal environment preferred
- Associates degree in accounting is an advantage
- Knowledge of Omega or other legal billing software a plus
- Ability to work 4-5 hours in a day or 20-25 hours in a week
