Accounting Clerk

Essential Job Duties:

  • Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the Accounting Department
  • Reconciling bank statements with the general ledger and cash reports
  • Producing daily cash reports for management
  • Reconciling daily cash receipts
  • Preparing and entering general journal entries
  • Updating and maintaining accounting records
  • Coding and entering accounts payable
  • Preparing payments for signature
  • Monitor client accounts for delayed payments and act accordingly

Other Duties:
Other accounting duties as assigned by Finance Director


  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures
  • Competency in MS Office and accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting reports
  • High level of attention to detail a must
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task a variety of assignments in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing with internal staff, firm vendors and firm clients
  • Deep understanding of confidentiality
  • Some billing/accounting experience in a legal environment preferred
  • Associates degree in accounting is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Omega or other legal billing software a plus
  • Ability to work 4-5 hours in a day or 20-25 hours in a week
